A drop separator is designed to absorb dropping liquid from gas. When gas is flowing between the backwall and the separation unit it exudes condensate as a result of varying pressure and temperature. Part of the gas-saturating vaporous water transits into liquid droplet state. A packing – 2 500 mm high Raschig rings – is laid upon the screen of the drop separator.
The acceptable working pressure does not exceed 0.07 MPа (0.7 kgf/cm).
Maximum acceptable working temperature is +40 С.
The drop separator is made of graphite saturated with special structure.
