Shell-and-tube graphite absorbers

A vertically arranged apparatus with a metal housing and a floating head designed for absorbing steams and gases by means of aggressive media in chemical production processes. The absorbers constitute vertical-type shell-and-tube heat exchangers with a floating head.

The tube bundle is assembled from graphite-reinforced plastic tubes with a 37 mm outside and a 26 mm inside diameter. By agreement with the customer the tubes may have different outside and inside diameters. The tubes are connected to tube shells using compound. Tubes inside the tube sheets are arranged at the corners of equilateral triangles. Distributing caps with openings for film-type acid distribution across the internal tube surface are mounted at the top ends of bundled tubes on the tube shell.

Gas is supplied into the apparatus through the top distributing chamber, acid is supplied through the top lateral branch tube and the cooling medium is supplied into the intertubular space of the housing.

The legs are welded to the housing at the mounting location.

The apparatus equipped with a floating head have practically no restrictions with regard to the compensation of thermal elongations. Such apparatus have two shells: one is rigidly fixed and the second one can move freely. With such designs a tube bundle can be dismounted for repairs or cleaning.

The apparatus arrangement can be modified according to the customer’s requirements. Depending on the specifics of a particular process CJSC ROSGRAFIT Group specialists can develop special absorber designs.
